This is not a mathematical treaties, but it does employ mathematics. This is not a scientific treaties because it employs emotions, but it does employ fact based thinking and investigation seeking to minimize any effects from personal bias other than the personal bias inherent in the fact that this is a description of my personal worldview which is to say my personal consciousness.
How has this journey (both the living and the writing) affected me, personally? I am thankful that I have survived my journey thus far. I hope to exit my experience of Earth’s reality well. I am grateful to all those persons known and unknown who have helped and assisted me along the way of living out my very diverse experiences. I have probably gained much more than I can directly reciprocate. At this point in my journey, as I type this sentence, regardless of the trials, tribulations and challenges endured, my life on Earth has been a grand experience. I am so very glad that I did not kill myself when I was fifteen years old.
One of the fresh, new revelations that seeped into my consciousness during the last chapters of this treaties is that my learning has been oddly compartmentalized. The quantization of quantum mechanics attached itself to my realization that my process of learning in chunks throughout my life might be analogous to quanta levels of learning. Is it possible that these chunks of learned cognition were building until the quanta state was achieved that triggered aha moments that crystalized stable concepts that fused with other stable concepts to form more complexed components of my consciousness which is also built upon similar realities contained in Jacob Bronowski’s stratified stability explanation? This is an interesting proposition especially if I hypothesize that consciousness is an energy state. Do I know this hypothesis to be true? No. I have only, quite recently, mused upon the possibility. Such is the organic functioning of my consciousness. This paragraph serves to present to the reader a window into the intangible mechanics that developed and expands my consciousness. It is a form of subliminal meditation because it is a flow of thought open to a possibility or observations without judgement in a moment of peaceful reflecting. It is a creative act of connectivity leading to a possibility that might just be probable that alerts my consciousness to note perceptions that relate to the possibility. This might just be the germination of an element of energy within my consciousness that is waiting more infusion of energy until it achieves the quanta that will click to gain stable sustainability.
This moment leads me to reflect again upon my understanding of language sets, worldviews, and the correctness or incorrectness of this treatise. The most critical function of a language set is to convey meaning. When comparing one language set to another, the criteria of being robust in its ability to convey meaning is the commanding factor.
The conveyance of meaning is a highly sensitive calculation. Is English, as a language set, more or less robust in conveying meaning when compared to German or French or any other language? I have commented on the English word worldview in contrast to the German word weltanschauung indicating that weltanschauung has a nuanced meaning that is not conveyed via worldview. Does this example indicate that German is more robust than English?
In response to such a question, an understanding of the difference between translation and transliteration is needed when taking a poem written in English and transcribing it into German and vice versa. I have chosen a poem as the object to be moved from one language to another because poems are supposed to be tightly structured and words particularly chosen, all of which makes a poem difficult to move from one language to another.
There have been times when I have composed a poem and found an error that needed to be fixed. Perhaps I used a word incorrectly or I found a word more to the point of having several levels of meaning that I wanted for many of those nuanced connotations. Once I switched the words, I discovered that the sound play of the poem or the number of syllables of the new word choice disrupted my haiku structure. Such a disruption wrecked the poem. I had to make other modifications to that poem to fix the overall disruption. If I could not reinstate the integrity of the whole poem, then I had to decide to keep the original word or abandon the poem altogether. Such is the nature of a poem.
Transliteration is taking each and every English word and replacing with the exact German equivalent. Translation is more about maintaining the integrity of the meaning conveyed by the entire poem even if it means using vocabulary that is not an exact match to the words used in the original. Translation is more about the meaning than an authentic reproduction of the language set. I prefer an excellent translation over an exact transliteration. Individuals who make translations must be very proficient in the nuances of both languages in which translations are composed. The fact that a poem, in the hands of accomplished multilingual writers, can maintain the meaning and integrity of the whole indicates that, more than likely, most languages spoken by humans are equally robust even though they may have different structures through which meaning is conveyed between native users.
However not all language sets are equal. Mathematics is much better at manipulating quantities and points of position than English prose. Additionally mathematics is more universally understood than English prose or prose in French or Italian. That said, mathematics is very poor in conveying the high emotions of poetry. The language of the arts and the language of the sciences are two different language sets that have very different and unique functions conveying respective meaning particular to the goal of the message to be conveyed. Thus it is my personal belief that the language of the arts and the language of the sciences together with the language of mathematics are all needed to adequately come to terms with the whole reality of which we, humans, are but a part.
It should be apparent that the overall goal or function of this, or probably any other treatise, is the conveyance of meaning. Meaning is what constitutes consciousness and consciousness is about coming to terms with reality. As such the function of any treatise or language set is to do work, the work of decision-making. Decision-making, deciding how the individual responds to the multitudinous events of living within that reality, is the work of interacting with effects that target the individual and all of the life that surrounds that individual. Decision-making is the medium through which the consciousness is developed and expanded. Therefore, the critical function of any given language set is to enhance the decision-making paradigm of the person.
The ultimate function of any given treatise is to inform the individual and thereby enhance that person’s consciousness. If such is the case, then given the following:
1) the nature of the Wonder and Mystery of reality,
2) the nonlinear elements and the sensitivity to initial conditions of chaos, and
3) quantum mechanics’ principle of uncertainty,
the correctness or incorrectness of this treatise, while important in discerning the merits of the particulars which constitutes that treatise, is less critical than the overall effect enhancing the decision-making paradigm. Being informed of incorrect issues benefits the individual’s consciousness.
All of this being the case, I am content with One Bipedal Journey as being an honest communication of what I have learned, correctly or incorrectly, via my language set composed of the language sets of the arts, the sciences and mathematics to communicate my personal worldview (weltanschauung) which is to say my developed and expanding consciousness that is the product of my living experience of this reality into which I was born. It is this consciousness which movers the tangibleness of me to effect the intangibles of all my relations from all four directions.
